The TR20 resistance thermometer has been specifically designed for use in mixing tanks. With its flush BioControl® connection, the TR20 is deal for applications where conventional thermowells immersed in the process medium are considered to be impractical or undesirable. The design of the TR20 meets stringent hygiene requirements and ensures improved cleanability. This makes it particularly suitable for use in mixing tanks.

Process transmitters in dairy production

A leading manufacturer of dairy products relies on the model UPT-21 process transmitter, which features a flush diaphragm in hygienic design. These transmitters are critical for the accurate control and monitoring of production processes. Thanks to its robust design and integrated cooling fins, the instrument withstands even the most demanding ambient conditions without damaging the sensors – even during the cleaning in place processes (CIP). The transmitter ensures maximum reliability and durability, which is of great importance especially in refrigerated tanks where constant and precise measurements are essential. The manufacturer has placed reorders to ensure the continual optimisation of their production lines.

Temperature monitoring in brewery tanks

A renowned brewery was faced with the challenge of precisely monitoring the temperature in over 200 fermentation tanks. However, the sensors were often damaged by ice formation, which led to unforeseen production downtime. The introduction of the TW22 standard thermowell addressed this issue effectively. The thermowell protected the temperature sensors from damage and allowed for easier replacement of the sensors during the filling cycles. This improvement not only helped to reduce downtime, but also ensured the consistently high quality of the beer, as constant intervention in the containers became unnecessary.

A leading global yeast producer required precise instruments to monitor pressure, temperature and level in its yeast and water pipelines. Due to their high precision and reliability, they opted for WIKA’s PSD-4 pressure switches, TLS vibrating level switches and TR22 resistance thermometers. These instruments ensure that the production process runs smoothly and that the quality of the end product always remains at the highest level. In addition to providing the required instruments quickly, WIKA was also able to ensure that they were perfectly integrated into the existing systems. This helped maximise the efficiency and reliability of the new factory, which was critical to the success for the company.

Level measurement for vinegar production

A specialist in vinegar production faced the challenge of measuring vinegar levels in its tanks because calibration or changes to the sensor required emptying the tanks. WIKA addressed this issue by implementing model BV ball valves as well as other products such as TW45, S-10, S-11, S-20, PSD-4 and TSD-30. A decisive factor in the success of this project was the swift support provided by the WIKA sales team at the customer’s site. The solution featured a G1/2" male-to-female ball valve with a locking device, which facilitates easy sensor isolation for calibration and maintenance. This helped streamlining the process and ensuring continuous operation.
