Pressure units

Pressure as a measurement parameter

In the field of pressure measurement, there are many other units besides bar and psi. You can use the unit converter to convert, for example, mbar to μbar, Pa to kPa or mmWs to mWs.

Further common units for the measurand pressure:

  • MPa
  • kp/mm2
  • atm
  • inH2O
  • mmHg (Torr)
  • kp/cm2 (kg/cm2)
  • ftH2O
  • inHg

If you want to convert the two most common units, bar and psi, you’ll need the exact conversion values. If you want to convert bar to psi, multiply the bar value by 14.503774. In the opposite direction, a psi value is multiplied by 0.068948 in order to determine the unit in bar.

  • 1 bar = 14.503774 psi
  • 1 psi = 0.068948 bar

Temperature units

Temperature as a measurement parameter

In the field of temperature measurement, the units are differentiated in accordance with the International System of Units, SI for short. The temperature is measured in degrees Celsius (°C) or in kelvin (K). The measurement of temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) is mainly used in the USA or also in the United Kingdom. The unit kelvin, on the other hand, is mainly used in science.

Units for the measurand temperature:

  • Degrees Celsius (°C)
  • Degrees Fahrenheit (°F)
  • Kelvin (K)
  • Degrees Rankine (°Ra or shortened °R)

Conversion table and conversion factors for the most common temperature units

If you want to convert Celsius to kelvin, you have to add 273 to the Celsius value. When converting from Celsius to Fahrenheit, on the other hand, the Celsius value is first multiplied by 1.8 and then 32 is added to the result.

With the WIKA unit converter, you can, for example, convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, kelvin to Celsius or Fahrenheit to Rankine when dealing with temperatures.
