Pressure: avoiding fugitive emissions by reducing leakage paths
Pressure monitoring with a pressure gauge is indispensable in numerous process sections, for example in pipelines for methane. For applications of this type, WIKA has designed the “ready-to-install” EMICOgauge measuring system: a unit consisting of measuring instrument and shut-off valve. Its design reduces the potential leak paths of a comparable assembly from three to one. This significantly reduces the emissions risk. Every EMICOgauge is subjected to a helium leak test as standard and delivered with the corresponding certificate.
Level: 100 % tailor-made level solutions
Level measurement tasks usually require an engineered solution. Almost every application has individual requirements in terms of connections, accessibility and emission limit values. A fully process-oriented development and manufacturing approach enables WIKA to meet the given specifications precisely. For example, a number of shut-off valves, as an option, are fitted with bonnets that do not allow any fugitive emissions in accordance with ISO 15848-1 and TA Luft (VDI 2440). For the process connection, a welded connection provides the best leak tightness, even under extreme conditions. However, fugitive emissions can also be minimised with suitably designed compact flange connections.
Flow: Smart DP flow measurement at the next level
Differential-pressure flow measurement is suitable for a variety of applications. The measuring systems of the “DeltaFlow Line” from WIKA combine primary flow elements, valve manifolds and high-quality measuring instruments, such as differential pressure transmitters and thermometers for temperature compensation, into a compact unit. Simply by avoiding the need for impulse lines, the risk of potential leak points, and thus the probability of emissions, are reduced by up to 80 percent.
At the same time, the concept has positive effects on the measurement accuracy. With DeltaFlow measuring systems, customers not only reduce the acquisition and installation costs, but also the maintenance costs, since the number of possible leaks is significantly reduced with the professionally installed and tested measuring systems.
