All WIKA employees align themselves with the requirements of the customers, with the product utilisation, with our responsibility for the environment as well as with what is feasible both in technical and economic terms. Each employee of the company contributes in her/his place to the realisation of our quality goals. All departments and functional areas within the WIKA hierarchy share the responsibility, while every single employee is responsible for the quality of her/his working quality and performance. The accomplishment of our quality goals is an important management task. Special importance is attached to the quality of their work when the employees are assessed for their performance.
In order to be a creative and innovative partner for our customers, we expect our suppliers to maintain a high quality responsibility, which we support as their partner.
Not only the faults themselves, but the causes of such faults have to be eliminated. Prevention of faults takes precedence over the elimination of faults. To maintain the effectiveness of the management system and to achieve continuous quality improvement, and thus also a reduction of costs and an increase in cost-effectiveness, the Management Information System (MIS) assists the Board of Directors in the management of the business.
Under the guiding principle "WIKA achieves high customer satisfaction through quality and reliability", all manufacturing subsidiaries worldwide are certified, at the very least, to the current issue of ISO 9001. For several years the slogan "WIKA quality - no compromise" has been at the heart of an extensive quality offensive within WIKA. The ultimate goal of this is to constantly improve the market and customer orientation as well as our focus and activities on quality through satisfied and highly-motivated staff, and thus produce enthusiasm among our customers.
In recent years, the key quality indicators have been significantly improved. For the company's management, the forceful continuation of these quality improvement programmes in the future is a top priority.
The shift in the strategic orientation of quality focus from reaction to prevention has been completed. Here, WIKA has drawn on the latest techniques in quality and analysis. Production processes are designed around the KAIZEN philosophy, and continuously improved. Complex quality problems are worked on in a structured way by in-house Black Belts using the Six Sigma Method, thus ensuring a lasting solution. Quality problems in day-to-day operations are handled, solved and processes improved by multidisciplinary teams.
To ensure the consistently high quality of our products, the quality in the delivery of products and materials from our suppliers is of great importance. We regard our suppliers as our strategic partners, with whom, in the long term, we wish to achieve our set goals.
To this end, WIKA has various tools and methods available which enable our suppliers to understand and meet the requirements on products and processes.
