We are committed to a fast, reliable service with a maximum lead time of five working days, from receipt of equipment, whilst maintaining competitive pricing. This tailored service is also offered on our on-site calibrations. Our on-site UKAS capabilities cover surface plates, optical projectors, pressure gauges and electrical instrumentation.

Currently, we service all regions of the UK offering UKAS and traceable calibrations with plans to develop our technical offerings to further meet the growing needs of our current and future customers.

Tyneside Standards Limited is a fully UKAS-accredited calibration laboratory, providing assurance that all calibration work carried out under our schedule of accreditation is conducted in strict accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This ensures the highest levels of technical competence, measurement traceability and impartiality.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 aligns with the structure of the ISO 9000 series, while offering specific requirements for testing and calibration laboratories. Our adherence to this standard demonstrates our commitment to quality, accuracy and continual improvement.

Health and safety are core values at Tyneside Standards Limited; to support and formalise our approach, we are proudly accredited under the SafeContractor scheme. This demonstrates our compliance with recognised health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for both employees and clients, whether on-site or in our permanent laboratory facilities.

Our history at a glance

Tyneside Standards Limited is the premier calibration laboratory in the North, offering UKAS calibration of electrical, mechanical, torque, pressure, mass and temperature instrumentation.

The company was established in 1995 to provide high-quality calibration services in the North, however, after just a brief period expansion into the Midlands and Scotland occurred. To ensure we could meet the needs of local and national customers we achieved UKAS accreditation in 1997. The UKAS accreditation is a guarantee that our systems, engineers, processes and technical capabilities meet the full requirements of BS EN ISO 17025.

The company continued to grow and develop year on year, as the customer base grew so did the investment in equipment, state-of-the-art software and comprehensive staff training, we have strengthened our reputation year after year. This reinvestment is evident within all departments which have equipment that guarantees highly accurate and reliable measurement results, achieved with every calibration we conduct.

In 2022, Tyneside Standards became part of the WIKA Group, strengthening their service capabilities. This change of ownership resulted in many positives, which was felt and seen by our customers. The main improvement was the development of a portal system which allows customers to access digital copies of their certificates, view the live status of any work with Tyneside Standards and control quote requests. Tyneside standards now offer a tailored service to every current and future customer. Customers are able to determine lead-times and transportation methods to their calibration needs and requirements.
